ASVB Hosts First-Ever Broker Bocce Bash!
In September, ASVB proudly hosted its first-ever Broker Bocce Bash, a fresh and exciting change from our traditional golf tournament!
The Events Committee took to heart the feedback from brokers who found the golf event to be a long, hot day and often a far commute. Looking for something more relaxed, social, and accessible, the idea for the Broker Bocce Bash was born!
The evening kicked off at 4:00 p.m. with registration, where players were greeted with amazing swag, all courtesy of our generous sponsors. Each player received Panattoni shirts and hoodies, Berliner Cohen glass beverage containers, and Vulcan Construction tote bags. After checking in, attendees enjoyed delicious appetizers and an open bar hosted by South Bay Development before game play began at 5:00 p.m.
Teams took to the courts for a lively bocce competition filled with friendly rivalries and great energy. Hathaway Dinwiddie proudly sponsored the bocce balls for the tournament, and generously donated all the bocce sets afterward for the raffle benefiting the Veterans Resource Center. Our awesome prime court sponsors were BAB Commercial, Blueline Associates, Capital Access Group, Devcon Construction, MAI Construction, One WorkPlace, Pacific Ridge Builders, and Tico Construction. Dinner followed, served buffet-style and sponsored by Prologis, giving everyone a chance to relax and reconnect. Gidel & Kocal Construction proudly sponsored the scoreboard, keeping the friendly competition running smoothly throughout the night. Our safe ride sponsor, Swenson, made it possible to offer UBER credits so everyone could get home safely after the event. Midway through the evening, we paused for the raffle drawing, with all proceeds benefiting the Veterans Resource Center at San José State University. Thanks to the generosity of our raffle prize sponsors, ASVB, Blueline Associates, Cal Coast Telecom, GS Management, Hathaway Dinwiddie, McCandless Management, Pacific Ridge Builders, and the VRC – along with incredible raffle ticket sales led by Mitsie Smith, Maryanna McSwain, and the dedicated VRC volunteers, we were thrilled to raise a $5,000 donation to support local veterans!
The night concluded with the awarding of the coveted Brokers Cup to the winning team from CBRE: Congratulations to Terence Fox, Mike Grado, Joey McSweeney, and Kieran Reilly!
The inaugural Broker Bocce Bash was a tremendous success – filled with laughter, community spirit, and friendly competition. ASVB extends heartfelt thanks to all the brokers, sponsors, and volunteers who made this event possible.
